The model, presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2009, and characterized by extremely low consumption (3.3 liters of diesel per 100 km on the combined cycle) is available in Germany at 16,500 euros.

This is not the price “popular”, but it must be said that with the same power (75 hp), the Polo BlueMotion reduces by 22% (or 0.9 l/100 km) fuel consumption compared to the normal TDI and cut CO2 emissions from 109 to 87 g / km. On an injection of many technological developments whose influence on the final price is inevitable.

From the start & stop the regenerative braking system, through the tires with low rolling resistance, the tricks that have brought the weight to 1150 kg and those that have improved the aerodynamics (radiator grille, underbody panels, aerodynamic wheels), plus the relation the TDI certainly not lacking. Finally it should be noted that among the standard equipment of this BlueMotion includes cruise control, steering wheel rim and gear lever in leather, tire pressure indicator and fog.

The curious German prototype, characterized by a line quasi-shooting brake “is really interesting to discover the technical. The power is delivered to a group hybrid diesel-electric, which transmits its power through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox DSG.

This unique combination is aimed at a number of important future: the end of 2011 to meet again on the unborn ultracompact New Small Family, which just from the original Up! Of Concept Frankfurt Motor Show 2007 will build. To be precise, the heat engine is a 800 TDI 51 hp and 120 Nm, the electric, which relies on a lithium ion battery pack, delivers 14 more horses.

In particular, the head of R & D department of the House of Wolfsburg has concentrated on models BlueSport and Golf 7 and on the possible entry into Formula 1. Hackenberg has denied the interest of Volkswagen against top competition in the automotive world. Instead, it confirmed an increased effort in motorsports, which will consist in supplying 2.0 TSI and TDI engines for the lower formulas around the world.

As for the Volkswagen Golf 7, the head of R & D focused on alternate sources. According to statements of Hackenberg, the next generation Golf will be available in hybrid and electric variants unpublished. The Golf Hybrid will be developed primarily for the European market and adopt a scheme similar to the concept car Up! Lite, presented at the Salon in Los Angeles. In addition, the manager of Volkswagen has confirmed that there will be hybrid vehicles with the brands Bentley and Lamborghini, as technology of power ‘and Audi-tron concept will be adopted by other supercars of the Group.

Ulrich Hackenberg has also spent many words of praise for the Volkswagen BlueSport: “It ‘a car in my favorite in the coming months, I expect a final decision about his future by the board of the Volkswagen Group. If you were to receive the green light to production, BlueSport debut on the market around 2012.

The four-cylinder turbo Scirocco R (incidentally, the model can already book in Italy) comes from the version developed for the GT24 that took part in five specimens (three petrol, two natural gas) to the 24 Hours Nürburgring the last May. The engine is matched to the same electronic limited slip differential XDS of the new Golf GTI.

Compared to the old 3.2 V6 aspirations of the Golf R32, this new unit is significantly lower consumption and emissions, respectively certificates on 8.1 l/100 km and 189 g / km of CO2. All this with the manual transmission. Even better with the DSG, which brings these values to 8.0 l/100 km and 187 g / km of CO2.
