Honda Civic Hybrid looks and acts conventional but it’s not

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — We notice nothing unusual about the compact-class sedan delivered curbside by a valet at the Little Rock airport parking deck: With four doors and two rows of seats in the cabin, this car looks entirely conventional with its low-cast prow, aerodynamic roofline and the notchback-style truck in back.
Cruising up Central Avenue in the spa city of Hot Springs, a four-door vehicle of compact dimensions darts through the traffic of so many tourists who flock to this resort in the pine-covered mountains of Arkansas.
None of the sightseers seems to notice that the perky little car moving up the avenue represents a revolutionary concept in vehicle propulsion and as such happens to be a rarity among all automobiles on American roads.
4Car has also been told that Citroen is ’seriously considering’ building a production version of its eco-car concept, the C-Cactus.
The C-Cactus concept made its world debut at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007 and it featured a pared-down interior with no dashboard and a diesel/electric powertrain.
Citroen’s aim is to produce a simple, lightweight low-carbon car with minimal parts. The production car, if given the green light, is likely to feature a three-cylinder sub-100g/km petrol engine with stop/start technology.
