Eight ex-manager Volvo have written an open letter to Bill Ford Jr., chairman of the House Blue Oval, to induce him to “reconsider the sale of the Swedish company to Geely. The initiative, the limits of dramatic, is a consequence of the recent announcement that the Americans prefer the Chinese home-improvement agent in strictly monetary terms-to the other suitors in the running.
According to the authoritative (and worried) signed the letter, “Geely does not have the skills necessary to lead a company like Volvo. Not only that eight managers have said a Ford with Volvo that would be in Chinese hands a considerable amount of know-how, both for what concerns the security in respect of the latest to reduce fuel consumption and engine emissions.
It turns out however that, according to the Swedish site that reported the letter, the current management of the house is in disagreement with the theorems of the former leaders. What happens after this attempt at deterrence? Something will change in Ford’s intentions? Everything, for now, suggests the opposite …
